The California Conservation Corps (CCC)
The California Conservation Corps (CCC) is a State program teaching job skills and providing long-term housing for youth aged 18-25, including foster youth. For nearly 50 years, the CCC has been training youth like you and will be here for you as you complete the next step in building your future. Whether it’s training in wildland firefighting, energy, forestry, culinary, or conservation, you will get paid $33K in the first year of training.
Get paid $33K in the first year while you train in programs like:
- Conservation - Work on backcountry trails, improve fish habitats, restore streams and creeks, or install energy-efficient lighting and solar in public buildings.
- Emergency Response - Respond to natural disasters and help save lives. Corpsmembers have assisted with a variety of emergencies, including fires, floods, oil spills, earthquakes, agricultural response emergencies, and more.
- Natural Resource Conservation Work - Build trails in state parks, cut down and remove overgrown brush that fuels wildfires, restore forests burned by fire, and remove invasive species along coastlines and waterways.

If you’re transitioning out of foster care, add to the benefits you already receive. Participation in the California Conservation Corps WILL NOT AFFECT:
- Extended foster care; AB12; SILP
